The National Council for Women (NCW) organized a vocational training on Sewing, within the “Addressing the Economic Drivers of Irregular Migration” project, implemented by the National Council for Women (NCW), in partnership with the European Union (EU), and targeted women in Gharbia Governorate, from 11 to 24 September, 2023.

      The training included teaching women and youth the basics and stages of the craft to enhance their abilities and develop their skills to find job opportunities and consequently have a source of income to improve their living standards, as well as qualifying them for high quality and mass production then opening a production line for them.

     It is worth noting that the “Addressing the Economic Drivers of Irregular Migration” project aims to promote alternatives to irregular migration through promoting enterprise development and work opportunities for women and youth in Beheira, Gharbia, Luxor and Minya Governorates, in addition to implementing awareness-raising activities to highlight the risks of irregular migration based on the previous efforts.
